RI Year 1990/91

• Car Wash
  
  Was held at the Galle-face on the month of June. This event had been a success with being able to collect Rs.13.000 by the help of the participated 50 Interactors.
  
  Two unfortunate incidents had happened – one a collection till along with its contents had been stolen and the injuries sustained by  two Interactors had prevented the severing total success.
  
  The District acknowledges the support given by the Interact club of Ananda College, Interact club of Mahanama College and the Interact club of St. Pauls Girls School.
  
  The money collected from this project had been donated to the National defence fund on 7th of august 1990. This included a contribution from the Bishops college – which was the only respond to the request made by the District.
   

• Painting wards
  
  The project to paint the ward #40 of the Colombo General Hospital took place on the 26th August 1990 with 80 Interactors participating. Interact club of Stafford International, Interact club of Bishops college Interact club of  Muslim ladies college and the Interact club of St. Pauls Girls school deserves a word of appreciation for their ready assistance.
   

• Cricket Tournament
  
  The Inter-Interact softball cricket tournament has taken place at the N.C.C grounds. On behalf of the District, the Interact club of Hindu college and the Interact club of D.S Senanayaka College had organized this. This project has taken place on the 4th of November 1990. The winning teams are as follows,

• Providing tea to the inmates of the Sevana Lama Nivasa
  
  This event took place on the 24th of November 1990 at the Sevana Lama Nivasa, Kotte. The District would like to thank the Interact Club of Ananda College, Interact Club of St. Bridgets Convent and the Interact Club of St. Paul's for their assistance.
   

• The Film Show
  
  Over Rs.5000 had been acquired by the District by screening the film show “Tuff Turf” at the Liberty hall. This film show took place on December, 1990. The district thanks all the Interactors who helped in disposing the tickets.
   

• Fellowship project
  
  A fellowship project had been organized by the District to visit the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens. Over 50 Interactors had participated in this event, which took place on the 20th January 1991.
   

• The District Conference
  
  The 6th District conference took place on the 15th of January 1991 at the school halls of Ananda College and the Nalanda College. This had been hosted by the Interact club of Nalanda College and was continued for two Days. At his conference PP Int. Sanjeewa Wickramarachchi was elected as the District Interact Representative.
   

• Inter-Interact Swimming Meet
  
  2nd Inter-Interact swimming meet took place at the Royal College pool. Jointly organized by the Interact club of Royal College and the Interact club of Stafford international school, event took place on the 18th of May.

• Film Show
  
  The District had organized another film festival on the 31st of May. This event took place at the Majestic Cinema hall. The District Conveys their gratitude to all the Interactors who helped to make it a successful one.
   

• District Assembly
  
  The Interact Club of St. Thomas College, Mt. Lavinia, hosted the final District project, District Assembly.

These tragic deaths of Interactors took place during this interact year. The death of Past DIR Int. Fit. Lt. Priya Gunawardena who was shot down over the Jaffna Lagoon.
