About Interact District 3220
Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people of ages 12 to 19. Interact Clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary Clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting. The Interact movement was founded on the 05th of November, 1962 and has been Rotary’s largest and most prestigious youth movement. The activities of the Interact clubs provide opportunities for the youth to be constructively occupied and mature into responsible adults with the ability to accept the varied challenges they will encounter in the endeavors in the future.
Currently the Interact District 3220 includes an outstanding membership of approximately 3500 young determined individuals belonging to over 100 clubs across the Nation. The Interact District comprises of several zones including Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala, Negombo, Galle, Gem City, Tea Country, Jaffna and Kegalle. The Interact District has uplifted many youths in Sri Lanka and continues to do so under the guardianship and guidance of Rotary District 3220.
The Interact District 3220, Asia zone VIA Sri Lanka and Maldives, prides itself on being one of the most active Interact Districts in the world. The organization maintains its position by serving the community and building mutual understanding among cultures and communities both locally and internationally.
Our Vision
To inculcate the vigorous ethos of “Service Above Self” in the mentality of every Interactor, whilst ensuring that the “Core values of Rotary” and the “Four-way test” are imbued in the actions of all individuals of the Interact movement. To create an understanding that true prosperity can only be achieved in service to others.
Our Mission
To create a platform of unity amongst diversity with one aspiration, the spirit of “Service Above Self”. To nourish the growth of every Interactor to become respected and responsible citizens of the future. To instill the traits of leadership, honour, humility and altruism in the hearts of every individual in the Interact movement, while pursuing the goal of making the world a better place.
Our Goals
Creating an atmosphere of belonging and family, among Interactors from all walks of life irrespective of to which club they belong, and joining together in the name of “service” as ONE MOVEMENT aiming to make the country and world a better place.
